In the 1940s, the bombing of Pearl Harbor triggered the start of World War II; the atomic bomb was developed and dropped, causing widespread devestation; and Harry S. Truman declared the end of segretation in the U.S. armed forces. In 1941, JSA held its first Summer School, hoping the six-week program would garner new members for the Junior State. In 1946, JSA added its first summer program for women.

This fundraising team consists of students who graduated from JSA in the 1940s and continue to believe in the power of the Junior State of America. We’re celebrating JSA’s 80th anniversary by asking our friends, families, and fellow JSA’ers to invest in an organization that continues to make a huge impact on the lives of students across the U.S.

Please contribute to our shared goal by finding a 1940s compatriot (from the member list on your right) to contribute to, by clicking "DONATE NOW" above and contributing to our shared decade goal, or even by clicking "JOIN TEAM" on our team photo to start your own fundraising page and share your love of JSA with others.

We want to ensure that every student who wants to participate in JSA can, regardless of family income. Your contribution makes that happen.

$100or $9 a monthhelps one future leader attend a convention; $300or $25 a monthhelps them attend for an entire year. $500 a month ensures one more student can attend our life-changing summer school.
